Governors with a professional approach
Berewood Primary School is governed by a Local Governing Body (LGB), chaired by Mr Graham Olway. The Governing Body reports to the Board of the Trust and includes staff and parent governors. Members are appointed by the University of Chichester Academy Trust, as well as parent and staff governors who are elected.
Governors work in conjunction with the head teacher and contribute at a professional level to the school, monitoring the performance of the leadership team and acting as ‘critical friends’ of the head teacher to ensure that every child makes excellent progress. Governors spend time in the classroom, support staff development, and act as ambassadors in the community as well as developing their own expertise.
