Adverse weather/event closure information
Update 17 February 2022, 8:35 p.m.
Dear Parents and Carers,
BEREWOOD PRIMARY CLOSED - 18 FEB 2022
We have received information this evening regarding the latest intelligence with regard to Storm Eunice which is due to hit the area tomorrow morning.
We have been informed that the highest intensity of winds are expected between 9.00 and 11.00 a.m. but it will be very windy throughout the day, particularly near the coast, and there is a risk of flying debris, localised flooding, damage to buildings, falling branches, etc. There is also likely to be significant disruption to public transport.
We have been informed that following the meeting of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Tactical Co-ordinating Group this afternoon, the storm has now been declared as a Major Incident. In light of the latest intelligence we are taking the precautionary measure of closing on Friday 18th February.
Berewood Primary School will therefore be closed tomorrow, 18th February 2022.
Active8 wake up club will not run.
Growing Places and CM Sports after school clubs will not run either.
We will provide remote learning for your children and encourage you to stay at home and stay safe.
Kind regards and have a good break when it comes,
